Police seek 2 suspects in fatal stabbing of 20-year-old Washington Heights man

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Following the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man on a Washington Heights street last week, NYPD detectives released video and images of two suspects on Sunday.

Both suspects are described by police as 5’7” men with medium builds, and they are wanted in connection with the murder of Mateo Solis.

Solis was found with a stab wound to the back near Saint Nicholas Avenue and West 185th Street just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday, police said.

EMS rushed him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition, but he soon after succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital staff.

Solis lived only blocks away from where he was killed. The circumstances around the murder were not immediately clear.

One of the suspects was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black sweatpants, while the other was last seen in a black baseball cap, gray t-shirt and gray pants.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
