(670 The Score) As the Bears prepare for a potential franchise-altering decision at quarterback, they've identified the man to coach that position.

The Bears will hire Kerry Joseph as their new quarterbacks coach, NFL Media reported Friday. Joseph previously served as the Seahawks' assistant quarterbacks coach alongside offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, who left Seattle when he was hired to the same position in Chicago earlier this week.

Joseph, 50, is a former Canadian Football League MVP and Grey Cup champion who entered coaching in 2014. He spent the last four seasons on the Seahawks' coaching staff.

In joining the Bears, Joseph will be tasked with either developing a prized quarterback prospect — perhaps USC's Caleb Williams, the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft — or working with three-year starter Justin Fields.

Joseph replaces Andrew Janocko, who was fired by the Bears on Jan. 10 along with offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and several other offensive assistants. Chicago still needs to hire a wide receivers coach and running backs coach for Waldron's staff.

The Bears are also still searching for their next defensive coordinator, a position that has been vacant since Alan Williams abruptly resigned last September.
