Steelers need to find a way to keep yellow end zones

It’s one of the hottest topics going into the Steelers offseason.

No, not if the Steelers will get rid of Matt Canada, the yellow or gold, you want to call them that, end zones at Acrisure Stadium.

Initially done for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception (the end zones at Three Rivers Stadium were yellow in 1972), the Steelers kept them for the final game of the season, a victory against the Cleveland Browns.

The end zones really popped and looked spectacular on TV and in person.

“Keep the Steelers end zones yellow because they look incredible, keep them like that because that’s what Steelers football is,” said Colin Dunlap on The Fan Morning Show.

Now we’re not football field artists, so it might be difficult for the Steelers to have their end zones yellow all season long, since they share the stadium with Pitt football.

But, maybe the black “PITTSBURGH” can be painted blue for Pitt games and the “Steelers” can be replaced with the Pitt-script “Panthers” in the other end zone.

Maybe that isn’t possible with a natural grass surface, but the logo at the 50-yard line already switches from Steelers to Panthers logos depending on the game.

It may take a little more time from the grounds crew, but we feel it will be worth it.
