Joe DeCamara admits he has two major "macro" concerns about the 2025 Philadelphia Phillies following their 7-5 series opening loss to the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night—outfield and bullpen.
"The Phillies' outfield, as put together as Dave Dombrowski, remains weak," DeCamara said to open Wednesday's 94WIP Morning Show with Jon Ritchie. "Of the five guys that play out there, there's really only one that I know I feel pretty good with. And even a guy like [Nick] Castellanos can be up and down...But the other four—{Max] Kepler, [Brandon] Marsh, [Johan] Rojas—and I love [Edmundo] Sosa. But if we're going to start viewing him as an outfielder now, which he will be at times, you have to acknowledge the fact that he's an inexperienced outfielder and that did play a part last night. So the macro is the Phillies' outfield, for a team that is trying to win a World Series, is in a word: weak. That's a fact."
"Number two...the Phillies' bullpen does not look good. And the two guys I'd say you'd probably feel, at this point, the most confident in have both really have had some struggles this year—[Matt] Strahm and [Orion] Kerkering. And they're the two guys I'd say most people probably feeling the best about."
