In a season that can't end soon enough for the Tigers, why not look ahead to next year.
The Tigers announced their 2023 schedule Wednesday, featuring matchups with every team in the majors as part of Major League Baseball's new balanced scheduling format.
Detroit will open the season March 30 on the road against the Rays, before hitting Houston for a three-game set with the Astros. The club's home opener comes Thursday April 8 against the Red Sox.
After getting off to a brutal start in each of the last two seasons, next season won't be any easier. The Tigers play 37 of their first 40 games against teams that are currently .500 or better -- the only outlier is Boston -- and 30 of their first 40 against teams that are currently in the playoffs.
Later in the season, the Tigers will be home for a pair of summer holidays. They host the Rangers on Memorial Day May 29 and the Athletics on the Fourth of July.
Meanwhile, the Braves, Mets, Padres and Cubs are among the National League teams coming to Detroit.
