A preview press conference was held Tuesday ahead of this weekend’s return of the annual Fall for Greenville festival.

This year’s Fall for Greenville is set to kick off with a Thursday night concert before the main event runs from Friday, October 13th through Sunday, October 15th.

Fall for Greenville Board Chair Elect Veera Gaul said this year’s festival is set to feature 88 different performances at seven different concert stages, 85 of which are new this year. Over half of these performances will be from local Upstate musicians.

The festival is also featuring a record 61 restaurants and food trucks this year, including Cima Mathur, co-owner of Persis Indian Grill.

She said her restaurant has participated in the past three Fall for Greenville festivals, which she said has helped in promoting her business. This year, they are also pushing for their third silver spoon award at the festival.

Sidewall Pastry Kitchen is a first-time participant this year, and marketing and event specialist for Sidewall, Nikki Posey, said she hopes the festival can similarly help in promoting her business as well.

Some road closures will go into place Thursday morning and afternoon for the kickoff concert, with remaining road closures for the weekend going into place early Friday morning.
