As 2023 comes to a close we asked you to use this time to reflect on all the amazing music we loved this year, but most importantly which track was your Bop of the Year? We then tasked you to listen and vote, and after a few weeks, we finally have a winner.

And the winner is.... “Seven” by Jung Kook, and we can’t say we’re entirely surprised. Since the BTS member struck out on his own solo journey, he’s served up hit after hit, with the Latto assisted track leading the way to his GOLDEN debut.
Talking to Audacy about the success of “Seven” during a Check In back in September, Jung Kook shared what it’s been like to see people respond so positively to the track. “It’s not that I wasn’t confident before, but I think the song achieved a lot more than what I expect, so I’m very thankful. I’m grateful to my ARMY and to everyone who listened and enjoyed the song,” the singer explained.
“I released the track as a summer song, which was right for the season,” he noted, "and I was also able to win a great award for it,” he added, referring to taking home the Song of the Summer title at the 2023 MTV VMAs.
Adding to his summertime accolades, Jung Kook also snagged himself title of Audacy’s Artist of the Summer, for the second year in a row. He also captured the title in 2022, which only further shows the singer's star will only continue to rise and the support of ARMY knows no end.
Additionally during his Check In chat, Jung Kook added that while he released “Seven” as a summer song, he hoped “people can enjoy [it] all year round and throughout all seasons.” Well, safe to say — mission accomplished.
