KDKA Radio Editorial: A Look Back at 2024
2024 is almost over and through the year, Marconi Award winning KDKA continued to bring you the most accurate, up-to-date breaking news.
The eyes of the world were on us in July, when a Bethel Park man tried to assassinate now-president-elect Donald Trump during a rally in Butler County.
An eventful election year came down to Pennsylvania, with Mr. Trump taking back the White House in a landslide victory over Kamala Harris.
Western PA was the center of the news universe again earlier this month when suspected CEO shooting suspect Luigi Mangione was arrested in Altoona less than a week after the fatal killing of Brian Thompson.
We also were on top of the biggest local stories of the year including, including the coming Allegheny County property tax hike, continued unhoused crisis, Corey O'Connor challenging Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey and countless more. We also focused on local heroes, including Clarence McCallister, who jumped in front of a loaded gun to save his pastor's life during a sermon in North Braddock.
After 104 years of broadcasting, we continue to pride ourselves on being your voice, Pittsburgh.
