It may be sunny and in the 70s this weekend, but winter is only a couple months away.
AccuWeather annual winter forecast is out
Meteorologist Joe Lundberg says average temperatures will be slightly above normal by a degree or two through winter with above average precipitation of rain or snow, depending on the temperature.
When it comes to snow, Lundberg says they expect a normal amount of snow fall, which is about 44 inches.
Lundberg adds mid-November through early December could be an active time for storms along with early February into March.
Lundberg says mid-February is when the polar vortex begins to break down and cold weather reaches further south toward southwestern Pennsylvania.
The good news, temperatures from now through Halloween will, for the most part, be warmer than normal.
AccuWeather says we could get a couple cold spells in November but expects the above average temperatures to last through mid-November.
