Grand Prairie (1080 KRLD) - While many area lakes have closed because of all the rain a newly renovated North Texas splash park has re-opened.
It's the Grand Prairie Splash factory that has finally reopened after being closed for a year. The interactive water park underwent an $800,000 renovation with the city adding more splash buckets, more shaded areas, installing a new water management system and resurfacing the parking lot.
The park opened in 2003 and was one of the first and largest splash pads to open in the area and the city said it was just time to make improvements.
The Splash factory is located at 601 E. Grand Prairie Road and is open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today and it costs just $2 to get in.
