The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 9:41 a.m. Friday on the southbound Golden State Freeway at Sheldon Street.

A witness told the CHP the big rig hit the overpass and that large chunks of concrete were in lanes.

The CHP issued a SigAlert for the two right lanes of the southbound Golden State Freeway and Caltrans planned to follow that with a hard closure to assess structural damage and clear debris. The HOV and lanes 1 and 2 were open. Lane 3 was reopened at 11:21 a.m. but the far right lane remained blocked.
