United States Senator for the State of Georgia Jonathan Ossoff appeared on The Rashad Richey Morning Show on Thursday morning to discuss leading a movement that resulted in the creation of two new exhibits in the National Center for Civil Human Rights in Atlanta, recent community efforts by him and his team, and how it affects the general public.
Jon Ossoff has appropriated substantial funds to the national center for civil and human rights. Sen. Jon Ossoff began his justification for doing this by emphasizing the value of maintaining such significant history. "If future generations are denied access to that history then they cannot be inspired by it," he stated. In a time like the one we currently live in, where there are such strong efforts to erase past, he stressed the need of preserving history. This prompted him to talk about how he is helping establish the new Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gallery, which will focus on his legacy, as well as a new exhibit called "without sanctuary," which explores the violence against marginalized and persecuted groups in the United States across time.
He also discussed his most recent efforts to address the Chattahoochee Brick Company issue in the city of Atlanta, which has been contributing to the illnesses of children everywhere due to environmental issues. In addition, he discussed how he has $2 million on the way to the city through the bipartisan infrastructure law to clean up the contaminated site along the banks of the Chattahoochee river on the west side of town, as well as other significant things they are doing to help the community.
