Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WBEN) - Cheektowaga Police and Fire Dispatch received calls for a residential fire just after 1:30 a.m. EST on Friday with possible entrapment on Westvale Court in the Town of Cheektowaga.
Police officers arrived on scene and were able to assist a female resident out of the home.
Firefighters from UCREST Fire responded with the assistance of multiple companies, and were able to extinguish the fire before the entire structure became fully engulfed.
However, a 64-year-old man was located and declared deceased in the attached garage. That prompted the call for detectives and fire investigators to the scene, where the fire appears to be accidental.
The investigation into the fire remains ongoing at this time.
