MACOMB TWP. (WWJ) -- The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is piecing together the circumstances of a deadly two-vehicle crash, late Tuesday night.
Officials said the crash involving a van and a pickup truck happened just before midnight on Sept. 29, along 23 Mile Rd. near Lancelot.
According to investigates, a 60-year-old man was driving a Silverado pickup without the headlights on before crossing into the opposite lanes of traffic, crashing head-on into a white Chevrolet Express van.
The van driver, a 30-year-old Macomb Township man, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The pickup driver, from Harrison Township, was taken to a hospital where he also died of his injuries.
Their names were not released.
In a news release, the MCSO said it extends its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the men who died during this difficult time.

Twenty-three Mile Road was closed for several hours at the scene, reopening to traffic at around 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
