St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputies say while investigating a burglary, they discovered a variety of illegal drugs and a firearm, and made one arrest.

The sheriff's office says deputies were investigating a reported burglary in the 76000 block of Spring Street April 6 when they observed illegal narcotics inside the home.

"During a search of the residence, they discovered and seized a combined total of 250.4 grams of marijuana, 24 fentanyl pills, fentanyl patches, various illegal possessed prescription pills, a Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun with ammunition and various drug paraphernalia," said Lt. Suzanne Carboni with the sheriff's office.

Deputies booked the resident, 50-year-old Clifton Moore, on charges of possession with intent to distribute, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
