A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Interstate 10 in New Orleans East.
According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, that crash happened around 3:40 p.m. on I-10 between the Chef Menteur Highway and Morrison Road exits.
The spokesperson says the motorcyclist hit a guardrail and died at the scene. No other information about the crash is immediately available. Police have not yet identified the motorcyclist.
I-10 East is closed while police investigate the crash. Drivers heading towards Slidell should take either the Chef Menteur Highway (US 90) or Claiborne Avenue/Judge Perez Drive (LA 35) to Paris Road (LA 47)/I-510 and back to I-10 to get around the crash.
